Reporting to – NST - Head
Department: Seasonings BU –Sales Marketing/ CSS

1. ROLE OBJECTIVE -

To support and direct the sales efforts for the Seasonings and flavours businesses, to drive market expansion in a particular geography and achieve organizational objectives

2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-

a) Financial Responsibility:

  • Responsible for accomplishment of sales and revenue targets in the Geography
  • Create and Maintain strong pipeline to ensure future wins and keep the sales momentum going
  • Ensure payments are collected within contracted time frames
  • Provide market insights and inputs to the National Sales Manager/Category heads for the AOP (Annual Operating Plan) and the budgets for the category
  • Prepare overall sales strategy plans for the geography along with the National Sales Head to meet revenue targets

b) Customer Responsibility (Internal and External) :

  • proactively engage with both current and potential customers through regular face to face contacts and expand the footprint and relationships with multiple stakeholders in each customer organisation
  • Ensure that the customer commitments are serviced to their satisfaction (In terms of Quality, quantity and timeliness) .Resolve issues proactively and promptly
  • Provide market intelligence data on trends, competitors and other activities to the category head and business.
  • Ensure all statutory forms including the C & H Forms are collected within the defined time frames.

c) Process Improvement:

  • Focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the selling process
  • Focus on identifying new customer segments

4. TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:-

Qualification:

a) Graduate/ Post Graduate in Food Technology, from an University of repute
b) MBA, with specialization in Marketing/ Finance preferred

Experience:

c) 7-8+years of experience, in the FMCG/ Food sector. Experience of handling Key Accounts, B to B sales

Management Trainee Program: PRARAMBH

The management trainee program at VKL is designed to help develop future leaders of the company. Each year we recruit a fresh batch of highly talented individuals from some of the best educational institutes in the country and begin their preparation for a successful business career.

On joining, each management trainee goes through a detailed induction program. The trainees get a chance to visit all our locations including headquarters in Mumbai, development centers around the country and manufacturing facilities in Kerala and Maharashtra. The program has been created to ensure the management trainee gets the full flavour of the company, from sessions with individual business heads to tastings of our products and insights into the R&D department to get a greater understanding of our core values, culture, history and business. At the end of the induction program, the Management trainee gets a holistic view of the entire organization. And is aware (step by step) of how we go about creating and developing great taste.

In the first year of the program, the management trainees go through a structured program focused on developing a deep understanding of the VKL business with the emphasis on 1- 2 functional areas. At the end of the first year, many MT’s continue to remain in the chosen area, while some may be moved to another functional area or business unit with additional responsibilities and a more focused role.
