On 3rd October, 2006, VKL acquired Beeta Chemicals, Mumbai,
marking VKL’s entry into the flavors & fragrances businesses.
Beeta Chemicals, is a leading manufacturer of flavors
& fragrances, with a customer base comprising several premier companies & brands
in India & abroad. It also has several unique distinctions such as “The
1995-96 National Award for Quality Products” by Government of India and achievements
such as having created the only Indian perfume ever to be ranked in the top 5
in France (Urvashi), having created the signature perfume launched by eminent
Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar in her name, amongst many others. This acquisition
enables VKL’s existing Seasonings & Private Label businesses to deliver enhanced,
value-added benefits to its already strong customer base, making their products
an even more preferred choice. It also extends VKL’s presence within India,
establishing a manufacturing facility & office in India’s commercial capital. The
acquisition adds to VKL’s growth plans and its commitment to delivering enhanced
benefits to all its stakeholders, i.e., employees, customers, suppliers, associates
& investors. Beeta Chemicals’ products are the creation of Dr.R.Y.Mantri
(Partner, Beeta Chemicals), a PhD from UDCT, Mumbai, and an eminent & distinguished
personality, severally honored for his achievements in the field of chemicals,
flavors & fragrance sciences. Millions of consumers, worldwide, are today consuming
or using products that have been created by him. Dr.Mantri is continuing to associate
closely with VKL for further research & development of new products.
